KAY KENNER ASHCRAFT
Founder and Owner of the Performing Fine Arts of Sealy

Kay holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with an emphasis in voice from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has an all-level Texas Teaching Certificate in music and a Teaching Certificate in dance.
Over the years, Kay has taught in 5 different Texas school districts; Hardin-Jefferson ISD, Snyder ISD, Lubbock ISD, Fort Bend ISD and Sealy ISD. In those districts she taught High School choir, Junior High choir, High School band, High School color guard, High School dance team, Junior High dance team and Elementary music.
Kay’s choirs have received several UIL Sweepstakes awards and have consistently won top awards in music festivals throughout Texas and Louisiana. She has had several students in the TMEA All-State Choir and her voice students consistently earn Division I at UIL Region and UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest. Several of her voice students have been chosen as top five percent singers in the State competition. Kay’s piano students receive Superior ratings in KMTA festivals. She has also won the UIL State Marching Band Contest as Assistant Director and Color Guard Instructor for the Sudan High School Band. And as Dance Instructor for the Sealy High School Tigerettes, Kay has won two National Championships from MA Dance.
Kay is also Co-Owner of the Texas Theatre Company in Sealy, Texas. She writes and directs musicals for children, youth, and adults.
Kay is the co-founder of the first All-City Elementary Choir in Lubbock, Texas, the director/creator of summer church music camps, directs and arranges for handbell choirs, and is presently the Music Director at First Methodist Church in Sealy, Texas.

Norman trained as a Classical Clarinetist/Music Educator with an emphasis in woodwinds at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. During his college years, he began teaching private lessons and developed a deep love for music education.
With 28 years of experience performing, teaching and conducting in a wide variety of musical organizations, Norman brings a lot of knowledge and talent to our studio. He has been an organizer, arranger and performer on Saxophone and Clarinet, performing big band rock, pop, oldies and other genres in Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Jackson, MS and Baton Rouge, LA for over 20 years. He also conducted/directed musical productions, as well as, performed in orchestras, symphonic bands, woodwind ensembles, and solos performances.
In the 2017-2018 school year, 100% of Norman's wind students (woodwind & brass) achieved UIL All Region, All-Area, and/or All-State recognition, and/or received Superior ratings for individual solos.
With so much experience behind him, he has an ability to break down a complicated idea and turn it into something easy for his students to understand. He shows his students great patience and always offers actionable feedback.
KAYLA SAUCEDO

Kayla graduated from Sealy High School. She has performed in many vocal competitions and is the winner of many UIL vocal awards. Kayla was also a Finalist for "Sealy Idol" for 3 years.
Her career path was not always musical. Kayla became interested in music education after deciding to take voice lessons 7 years ago from Kay Kenner Ashcraft. Since her time at Performing Fine Arts of Sealy, she has blossomed and developed a deep love for her gift. She is a patient instructor and passionate about helping others achieve their goals.
CHARLES McCALLUM
* Guitar Instructor
Charles is majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston. He first became a student of Kay Kenner Ashcraft, 4 years ago. After his first year, Mrs. Kay noticed he had a natural talent and hired him to be an instructor. He has taught guitar for the Performing Fine Arts of Sealy for three years.
